Lt. Col. Oliver L. North to Speak At Truett-McConnell Next Month

Truett-McConnell College will host a Faith and Freedom Celebration featuring Lt. Col. Oliver L. North (retired) on the Truett McConnell University campus next month.

The Faith and Freedom Celebration will take place April 20th in the university’s George Blaurock Student Wellness Center.

Todd Starnes, columnist, author, and host of the Todd Starnes Show on Fox News radio will emcee this special event.

Retired Lieutenant Colonel North is a decorated combat veteran who served 22 years in the United States Marine Corps.

During the Vietnam War, he led a marine platoon and won a Silver Star and a Purple Heart for his service. In 1981, President Reagan appointed him deputy-director of the National Security Council where he played a key role in a series of controversial military and security actions.

North is now an American political commentator and television host, military historian, and New York Times best-selling author.

One hundred percent of all proceeds will fund the Empower the Call campaign which provides assistance for student mission trips, creates retention scholarships, and reduces missionary student debt, allowing TMU alumni currently on the mission field to remain and continue sharing the gospel message.

In addition to the program, all participants will have the opportunity to view a replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier inside the Student Wellness Center.
