Lower Numbers in Latest Covid Report-School Numbers Also Down

Monday’s DPH Covid-19 Report was much lower in reported positive cases across the counties of Stephens, Habersham, Franklin, Hart, Rabun, and Banks with just 22 cases reported across the six county area, but yet still  one death.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 67 COVID-related deaths in Stephens County with 2,755 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report now has Habersham County with 124 deaths and now 4,437 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County still has had 33 deaths and now 2,178 positive cases, Rabun County is now reporting 1,385 cases and still 34 deaths, Hart County is now reporting 1,585 cases and still 32 deaths, and Banks County is still reporting 28 deaths and now 1,489 cases.

The numbers also looked better in the Stephens County School System Covid-19 Weekly Update for the week ending February 5th:

2 staff members with a positive Covid-19 test.

6 staff members quarantined at home.

89 students quarantined at home.

7 students with a positive Covid-19 test.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, the numbers represented are current active cases as of February 5, 2021 and are not a running total.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there were less than 2500 positive cases across the state since the weekend report. There has now been a total of 775,466 confirmed positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those, 86 more were hospitalized for a total now of 51,928, and the total death count due to complications of the virus rose by 35 to 13,361.
