Love Him Love Them Needs Volunteers for Thanksgiving Food Giveaway

By MJ Kneiser, WLHR

A local ministry, Love Him Love Them is putting out the call for volunteers to help pack Thanksgiving dinner plates for those who need them.

Last year, the ministry served over 2,000 people in Franklin, Hart and Stephens Counties with meals for the holiday.

This year, founder Linda Gunter says they expect to feed over 3,000 people as well as meet whatever need they might have, such as paying someone’s rent, or utilities.

Last year, LHLT gave a car to a family so they would have transportation to work.  They also helped a single-mother with seven children get into housing.

In addition to feeding people locally, Gunter said they also need volunteers to help them pack food boxes for those in need in Haiti.

Altogether, they hope to provide food or food boxes this year for a total of 10,000 people.

All of the food prep and packing will take place Thanksgiving week at the Boyd Outz Learning Center in Lavonia, and will be preceded by a training session for volunteers.

Anyone interested in volunteering to pack meals or if you would like to sponsor a box of food for a family in Haiti, you can text LHLT to 4747 to sign up.
