Love Him Love Them ministry partnering with CATO to host shoe drive

A local business is teaming up with local international ministry Love Him Love Them this weekend to host a shoe drive.

According to Love Him Love Them Ministry Founder Linda Gunter, the CATO store in Eastanollee has agreed to hold a shoe drive this weekend.

Gunter says the store manager reached out to her after learning about the many services the ministry offers.

“We’re so excited for Love Him Love Them to partner with CATO this weekend. CATO in the Walmart shopping center in Eastanollee, on Saturday, from 10-7, and on Sunday, from 1-6 we want you to bring your old shoes, your used shoes, your shoes you just don’t wear anymore. We have to most incredible opportunity to help children to be able to go to school and be able to wear those shoes. And in addition, your old shoes will give women jobs to provide for their families. So, all we’re asking if for you to stop by CATO and drop off as many shoes as you can bring. We’ll take them any size, any style, any color, any type is fine. We want your old shoes. We’re looking forward to partnering with you and others in Toccoa and the surrounding areas to help us help others. That’s what it’s all about, we have to love him so we can love them,” she said.

She says that after learning about the Eastanollee store’s commitment, every CATO in Georgia and South Carolina will also be hosting shoe drives this weekend to support the ministry.

CATO in Eastanollee will hold the drive on Saturday, July 2, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday, July 3, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Additionally, Gunter says anyone looking to find out more about Love Him Love Them can visit their website at lovehimlovethem.org.

Again, this weekend, at every CATO in Georgia and South Carolina, you can drop off any unwanted shoes to go to Love Him Love Them.
