Looking ahead…

Here are some of the stories that we are working on for next week:

• Whataburger to open in Lavonia off Highway 17, across the street from Dunkin Donuts, according to Lavonia City Manager Charles Cawthon, who made the announcement at the Sept. 5 Lavonia City Council Meeting.
• The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded contracts for 44 projects, including several in Stephens and surrounding counties. 
• ‘Lake Hartwell Partners for Clean Water’ is looking for volunteers for its third mass cleanup event on Sept. 30.
• Options outside the traditional educational and career paths are offering viable alternatives, and they are becoming more and more popular. WNEG will begin our in-depth series on Workforce Development with a look at Work Based Learning.
