Local North Georgia Tech Students Inducted into National Honor Society

A number of local North Georgia Technical College students were recently inducted as new members of the National Technical Honor Society.

The NTHS is America’s highest award for excellence in career and technical education.

The mission of the organization is to honor student achievements and leadership, promote educational excellence and enhance career opportunities.

NTHS members will receive recognition in the form of identification on their transcripts, a special seal on their diploma and white stoles on their graduation robes.

In order to be inducted, students must maintain at least a 3.7 GPA, have completed at least 24 credit hours, and be recommended by an advisor or instructor.

This year’s local inductees from the Currahee campus included Brandon Ballenger of Eastanollee in Industrial Systems Technology, Lauren Callaway of Lavonia in Early Childhood Education, and Carolynn Degars-Dutton of Canon in Early Childhood Education.

Local students who attend school on the Clarkesville campus included, Claudia Walker of Toccoa in Hair Design, and Gladys Wright of Eastanollee in Photography Diploma, Kelly Chambers of Lavonia and Jae Crumbley of Toccoa in Engineering Tech, Megan Trowman of Canon in Business Management, Keri Shirley also of Canon in Cosmetology, and Cameron Mason of Lavonia in Environmental Tech,
