Local Ministry sending aid to Haiti earthquake victims

By MJ Kneiser, WLRH

The death toll in Haiti after Friday’s 7.2 earthquake is now over 1200 and doctors, pastors, and rescuers on the ground are calling for help.

The local missions ministry Love Him, Love Them has put out the call for donations of items as well as monetary donations to send to their ministry partners in Haiti.

Ministry founder Linda Gunter said they are currently taking donations for items ministry partners in Haiti are able to buy there.

These include Solar Lamps, bottled water, food, batteries, and inverters.

But she said there are things they cannot get right now in Haiti including tents, plastic tarps, and medical supplies and they are asking for donations for those items as well to send down.

One good piece of news is that the orphanages, transitional house, schools, and hospital that Love Him Love Them supports were all spared damage from the earthquake.

If you’re interested in donating items you can contact Gunter at 706-599-7525.

To make a monetary donation you can go online to the Love Him Love Them website at lovehimlovethem.org and click on Earthquake Relief.
