Little Change in Latest Covid-19 Numbers from DPH and School System

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting no changes in the latest numbers in Stephens County with 68 COVID-related deaths, and 2,805 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Monday afternoon.

The latest report still has Habersham County with 131 deaths and now 4,482 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County still has had 35 deaths and 2,214 positive cases, Rabun County is now reporting 1,400 cases and still 34 deaths, Hart County is still reporting 1,612 cases and 34 deaths, and Banks County is reporting a death for a total now of 30  and 1,506 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there were 1,730 positive cases of the virus since Sunday, one of the lowest increases in recent memory, and there have been a total now of 792,509 positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those, 24 were hospitalized bringing that total to 53,403 that have been hospitalized, and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 13,997.

The Stephens County School System Covid-19 weekly update for the week ending February 12th is as follows:

1 staff member with a positive Covid-19 test.

2 staff members quarantined at home.

78 students quarantined at home.

4 students with a positive Covid-19 test.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, the numbers represented are current active cases as of February 12, 2021 and are not a running total.
