Littering Leads to Arrest of Fugitive

A case of littering lands a Florida woman behind bars in Stephens County.

According to the Stephens County Sheriff’s incident report, around 9a Sunday morning a citizen spotted a couple throwing trash out their vehicle’s window on Highway 17 and called 911.

After receiving a description of the vehicle a deputy located the white van and pulled it over.

The deputy ran a warrant check on the pair and discovered the woman in the van was wanted in Florida on felony warrants.

She is identified as 33-year old Holly Jones, address unknown.

However, before arresting Jones, the deputy made the couple pick up all of the trash they had thrown out of their van.

Jones was then arrested and charged with, Fugitive From Justice and was taken to the Stephens County Detention Center where she is being held pending extradition to Florida.
