Lions Sweep Indians

The Stephens County Indians dropped a Region 8-AAA doubleheader to the Hebron Christian Lions Wednesday night at the Reservation.

In game one, Lion Daniel Barwick went the distance, limiting the Indians to just
three hits as the Lions beat the Indians 6-1.

The game was tight for a short time with the Indians Konner Loudermilk and Barwick having terrific outings. However, the Indians defense helped the Lions score four runs without benefit of a hit in the top of the sixth inning to pull ahead for good.

Tyler Zigan had the only RBI for Stephens County with a first inning single. Konnor
Loudermilk took the loss on the mound pitching 5 and 1/3 innings
and striking out seven.

In game two, Hebron Christian scored a pair of runs in four different innings and
went on to an 8-4 win over the Indians.

The Indians scored three runs in the first inning and another run in the third, but
couldn’t score anything after that. Konnor Loudermilk drove in two runs with two
doubles and a single. Tyler Zigan and Landon Carter drove in a run each.

Findley Ward took the loss while Dallas Rice got the win for the Lions. Stephens
County committed five errors in the game.

Stephens County’s record is now 7-9 overall and 2-4 in region 8-AAA.

Hebron Christian is alone in first place at 5-1 in region play and 9-8 overall.

Stephens County is off until next Tuesday when they host the Oconee County
Warriors in the third series of region 8-AAA opponents. Gametime on Tuesday is
5:55 P.M. and airtime on WNEG Radio will be 5:45 P.M.
