Lions Sweep Doubleheader From Indians

The Franklin County Lions are off to a 3-0 Region 8-AAA start after sweeping the Stephens County
Indians in a double-header Friday night, by scores of 9-2 and 11-1 in 6 innings. Franklin County had
defeated the Indians 5-3 in a game played earlier in the week.

In the first game ,the Lions led the Indians 2-1 going into the fifth inning before defensive miscues
helped Franklin County score three runs .Stephens County would score another run in the bottom of the
fifth inning ,But four more runs on four hits and an error would give the Lions the win 9-2.

Kayne Jenks pitched five innings for the win, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out six. Junior
Miles Dodd finished out the game for the Lions.
Ayden Garmon started for the Indians and went the first five innings, giving up five runs on just four hits
.Ian Rumsey and Ben Stowe finished on the mound for Stephens County .Carson Worley and Ben Stowe
had RBIs for the Indians. A.J. Blackwell and Kayne Jenks drove in runs for Franklin County.

Franklin County pitchers Miles Dodd and Garrett Garner allowed the Indians just three hits in the
nightcap as the Lions beat the Indians 11-1 in six innings. Jacob Pruitt drove in Cruz Mullinix with the
Indians only run in the fourth inning. Franklin County scored in every inning, pounding out nine hits and
taking advantage of Stephens County errors.

Nick Randall took the loss in Game Two, going three and a third innings. Carson Worley and Ian Rumsey
finished the game for the Indians.

Franklin County is now 13-1 on the season, 3-0 in Region 8-AAA and rated number two in the state in
AAA baseball.

The Indians are 5-9 overall and 0-3 in region play.
Stephens County is on the road next Tuesday at Oconee County. Game time is 5:45 P.M. with air time on
WNEG Radio at 5:30 P.M.
