Leaf Watch 2017

Leaf Watch 2017 is underway according to Public Affairs Coordinator Kim Hatcher.

Throughout the Peach State, many spectators can witness the laurel forests turning fiery hued, as crisp nights and cooler days brings a mosaic of color across Georgia.

Typically, Georgia’s mountains peak in late October; however, some subtle changes can be seen as early as September and will continue to change throughout November.

As the leaves change, state parks across the state have geared up for several events.

Some nearby state parks include Black Rock Mountain State Park, in Clayton; Smithgall Woods State Park, in Helen; and Tallulah Gorge State Park, in Tallulah Falls.
