Lavonia Seeking Vendors for First Annual Renaissance Festival

If you love Renaissance festivals, you won’t have to drive to Atlanta to attend one this year.

That’s because the City of Lavonia is hosting its first-ever mini Renaissance Festival on Saturday, October 5th at Lavonia Memorial Park behind City Hall.

DDA Director Vivian Young tells WNEG News while they do have a number of vendors scheduled already, they are still looking more – especially more food vendors.

Young is encouraging non-profit groups to rent space to sell food and other items.

She said there is no charge for vendors to rent space at the Renaissance festival.

So far, the cancer support group Power of Hope will be selling turkey legs at the fair and the Franklin County High School Drama Club is slated to sell pizza and candied apples.

Young said volunteers are already working on the decorations and scenes to turn the park into a medieval fair that takes visitors back to the days of the knights of the round table.

In addition to great food and entertainment, the festival will include a petting zoo and arts and crafts vendors.

Young said they are also looking for volunteers to help set up on Friday, October 4th, to help with parking on Saturday, and to help clean up the park on Sunday.

If you are interested in being a vendor at the festival, whether it’s to sell food or other items, you can contact Young at the DDA office.
