Lavonia Police Ask for Public’s Help to Catch Subway Robbery Suspects

In Franklin County, Lavonia Police are still searching for a suspect who robbed the Subway on Jones St.
It happened on Wednesday, February 13.

“At about 9:30 that night, two employees were on duty at the time but one left to run an errand,” Lavonia Police Chief Bruce Carlisle said. “While the second employee was away, the suspect entered the restaurant and placed what appeared to be a gun on the counter and demanded money from the employee. The employee handed over the money that was in the register, which was approximately $800.”

The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction. Carlisle said investigators believe the robber had a vehicle parked nearby.

Carlisle told WNEG News Tuesday that investigators don’t have much to go on except a description.

The suspect is described as a white male who was wearing a hoodie, black jacket and possibly a black baseball cap.

Anyone with any information about this robbery is asked to call the Lavonia Police Department at 706-356-4848.  You do not have to give your name.
