Lavonia Fall Festival Coming up

The festival season kicks off this weekend as Lavonia gets a jump on Autumn with the annual Lavonia Fall Festival.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Lavonia this Saturday, September 30 and will include food choices from funnel cakes, BBQ, Rubens, turkey legs, boiled peanuts, and shaved ice as well as unique, hand-crafted items.

The Falll Festival is sponsored by the Downtown Development Authority, and Authority Director Barbara Busby told WNEG’s sister station WLHR that it’s a good time to get a jump on Christmas shopping.

A mechanical bull and rock wall will be set up at the Depot and Jumping With Us will be set up on West Main with bouncy houses, slides, and a train ride.

Attendees are invited to stop by the Gazebo at noon for entertainment by County Line Jazz, and at 2:00 p.m., the Second Time Around Band will hit the stage.

For those looking for a bit more activity, the Lavonia Chamber of Commerce will host its first ever Cornhole Tournament, and 92.1/Lake Hartwell Radio will be on hand with a live broadcast.
