Plans are for the Lavonia Chick-Fil-A to reopen this week.

That’s according to a spokesperson from Chick-fil-A corporate.

The store closed Wednesday after at least one employee tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement released by the Corporate office in Atlanta late Wednesday, the Company confirmed the store had closed to clean and disinfect.

“Our highest priority is the health and well-being of our Team Members and Guests. After learning that Team Members at Chick-fil-A Lavonia were diagnosed with COVID-19, the restaurant proactively closed and took precautionary measures, including disinfecting and deep cleaning the restaurant. Safe service is our top priority and our restaurants continue to follow CDC and local health department guidelines.”

A spokesperson for the Company tells WNEG News franchisees Will and Ashley Lowe proactively took steps to close the store when they learned of the positive test results and are conducting a thorough disinfecting and deep cleaning of the entire store.

The Lavonia Chick-fil-A has instituted a number of proactive safety measures for employees and customers since the COVID crisis began.
