Latest Schools and Area Covid-19 Report

The Stephens County School System has released the latest weekly Covid-19 update for the week ending December 11, 2020:

3 staff members with a positive Covid-19 test.

6 staff members quarantined at home.

202 students quarantined at home.

7 students with a positive Covid-19 test.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, these numbers represent the current active cases as of Friday, December 11th and not a running total.

 

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 46 deaths in Stephens County and now a total of 1,727 confirmed positive cases of Covid-19.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

The latest report still has Habersham County with 82 deaths, and 2689 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County has had 1,312 positive cases of the virus and 21 deaths, Rabun County is now reporting 13 deaths and now 745 cases, Hart County is still reporting 20 deaths and now 845 cases, and Banks County is still reporting 12 deaths, and now 900 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health,  there were over 4,000 positive cases reported in the state in the last 24 hours for a total now of 466,904 since the beginning of the virus. Of those with positive cases, 37,321 have been hospitalized, and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 9,175.
