Latest Report Shows No Additional Covid-19 Related Deaths in Area and Two Statewide

The latest report from the Georgia Department of Public Health shows no additional deaths in the area related to Covid-19, and two statewide since the Sunday report.

The latest DPH report is showing Stephens County 1,017 positive COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The report still shows 33 COVID-19 related deaths in Stephens County.

The latest report was released Monday afternoon.

DPH is still reporting Habersham County with a total of 66 deaths, and now 1,563 total positive cases of the virus.

Locally, Stephens County Hospital and its facilities have administered 5,080 COVID-19 tests.

Of those, 1,008 tests have come back positive with 800 patients receiving positive results, 4,056 received negative results, and 16 individuals are still awaiting their results.

Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester says the hospital currently has two patients hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19, and two others hospitalized awaiting results.

In other neighboring counties, Hart County has had 13 deaths and 486 cases, Banks County is reporting 7 deaths and 470 cases, Franklin County has had 726 cases and 11 deaths, and Rabun County has a total of 321 cases and 7 deaths.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 307,339 cases, of those, 27,394 have been hospitalized and 6,604 have died from complications of the virus.
