Latest DPH Area Covid-19 Numbers Remain Low

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 72 COVID-related deaths in Stephens County with 2,900 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Tuesday afternoon and only showed 10 new positive cases in the area and no additional deaths.

The latest report still has Habersham County with 139 deaths and now 4,563 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County still has had 39 deaths and 2,286 positive cases, Rabun County is still reporting 1,445 cases and 37 deaths, Hart County is now reporting 1,676 cases and 35 deaths, and Banks County is still reporting 33 deaths and 1,577 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have been a total of 837,443 positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those, 57,513 have been hospitalized and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 15,928.
