Latest Covid Report-Two More Deaths in Hart-16 Additional Cases in Stephens

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting 16 more positive cases in the last 24 hours in Stephens County.

DPH is now reporting that there has been a total of 727 positive cases of Covid-19 in Stephens County.

The latest report was released Thursday afternoon.

The Thursday report still shows 19 deaths in Stephens County due to complications of the virus.

Locally, Stephens County Hospital and its facilities have tested 4,493 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 883 tests have come back positive with 699 patients receiving positive results (some have tested positive multiple times), 3,558 received negative results, and 52 individuals are still awaiting their results.

Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester says the hospital currently has six patients hospitalized with confirmed cases of Covid-19, and four others who are hospitalized pending test results.

DPH is now reporting 53 deaths in Habersham County and a total of 1,245 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties,  Hart County is now reporting 10 deaths and 369 cases, Franklin County has had 483 cases and six deaths, Banks County has a total of 315 cases and six deaths, and Rabun County is now reporting four deaths and a total of 240 cases of the virus.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 246,741 total positive cases, of those, 22,880 were hospitalized, and 4,904 have died from complications of the virus.
