Latest Covid Area Report-Fewer Cases Two Deaths

The latest report from the Georgia Department of Public Health showed only 14 more positive Covid-19 cases in the six county area of Stephens, Habersham, Franklin, Rabun, Hart, and Banks, but additional deaths in Habersham and Rabun counties.

The latest report was released Thursday afternoon.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 69 COVID-related deaths in Stephens County with 2,814 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report has a death in Habersham County bringing the total to 134 deaths and three less cases than on Wednesday’s report for a total now of 4,497 positive cases of the virus, and Rabun County is now reporting another death bringing the total to 35 and 1,407 cases.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County is still reporting 36 deaths and now 2,228 positive cases, Hart County is reporting 1,619 cases and still 34 deaths, and Banks County is still reporting 30 deaths and now 1,517 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there were 2,238 more positive cases since Wednesday for a total now of 798,785 cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those, 293 more were hospitalized for a total of 54,173 that have been hospitalized and 104 more died bringing the total death count due to complications of the virus now at 14,358.
