Latest Covid-19 Report Shows Little Change in Area

The latest Covid-19 report from the Georgia Department of Public Health shows no change for area counties and two less positive cases in Stephens County.

DPH is now reporting that there has been a total of 711 positive cases of Covid-19 in Stephens County, two less than reported on Tuesday.

The Wednesday report still shows 19 deaths in Stephens County due to complications of the virus.

The report was unchanged for other area counties.

DPH is still reporting 52 deaths in Habersham County and a total of 1,219 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties,  Hart County is still at 357 cases and eight deaths, Franklin County has had 471 cases and six deaths, Banks County has a total of 307 cases and six deaths, and Rabun County has a total of 237 cases and three deaths.

Across the state of Georgia, the rate of hospitalizations and the death rate slowed considerably. The Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 243,982 total positive cases in the state, a little over 2,300 more cases since Tuesday. Of those cases, 235 more were hospitalized for a total of 22,664, and 55 more died from complications of the virus bringing that total to 4,849.
