Latest Covid-19 Numbers for Stephens and Surrounding Area

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, Stephens County now has 190 cases of COVID-19.
To date, Stephens County has had six deaths due to complications from the virus.

The latest numbers were released Thursday afternoon.

Locally, at Stephens County Hospital, staff have tested 1,698 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 185 tests have come back positive with 135 patients receiving positive results, 1,457 received negative results, and 56 individuals are still awaiting their results.

According to hospital staff, of those 135 who have tested positive at Stephens County Hospital and its facilities, 113 have now fully recovered from COVID-19

Additionally, there are currently no patients hospitalized at Stephens County Hospital with a confirmed positive test for COVID-19; however, there are four individuals hospitalized who are awaiting test results.

In other neighboring counties, Habersham County is reported to have had 648 positive cases of the virus and 35 fatalities due to complications from the virus. Franklin County has 170 cases and one death, Banks County has a total of 124 cases, Rabun County is still at 40 cases and three deaths, and Hart County has 52 cases.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 71,095 cases, 10,457 have been hospitalized and 2,745 have died from complications of the virus.
