Late Game Errors Burn Indians at Hart

The Hart County Bulldogs took advantage of 4 Stephens County errors, and scored 3 runs with 2 out in the bottom of the 6th inning to take a 7-4 win over the Indians Friday night in Hartwell.

Stephens County took a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning when Cole Snyder walked and scored after a Jordan Page single, and an Isaiah Martin RBI single. Later in the inning Mason Roberts, running for Page, scored when Josh Henshaw was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Hart County came back with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the inning, and had bases loaded with no outs but a pop up to catcher Tristan Farmer and a line drive speared by Eli Wenger doubling up the runner at 2nd got the Indians out of the inning.

Stephens County regained the lead in the 2nd inning when Carson Worley reached on an error and scored after a Snyder double and Page sacrifice fly.

After Hart tied the score again in the bottom of the 2nd, the Indians grabbed the lead again in the 4th when Ridge Adams singled and scored on a Page RBI single. Hart County tied the score in the 5th inning on 4 straight hits and the game stayed tied until the bottom of the 6th.

Indians pitcher Jordan Page was the hard-luck loser going 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 6 runs, 4 earned and striking out 5. Ayden Garmon pitched in relief for the Indians now 3-4 on the season.

Hart County’s Will Dean got the win for the Bulldogs, now 6-2, pitching the final 3 innings without giving up a hit or a run.
