Last day to sign up for Angel Tree Program

Today is the final day to sign up a child to receive gifts through the Salvation Army of Toccoa’s Angel Tree Program.

That’s according to Social Worker Brenda Gragg with the Salvation Army of Toccoa.

She says anyone still needing to sign up can come by the Salvation Army of Toccoa, located at 306 E. Franklin Street, by the end of business today.

The Angel Tree Program is designed to provide Christmas presents to the children in the community that normally would not receive gifts during the holiday because of a financial hardship.

Last year, over 500 children received gifts through the Angel Tree program; which, Gragg says without the generosity of the community this wouldn’t have been possible.

Gragg is asking the community to come together again, to see that every child gets a gift on Christmas Day.

Additionally, the Salvation Army of Toccoa is in need of volunteer bell ringers.

Gragg says anyone who is interested in volunteering can come by the Salvation Army of Toccoa to sign up.
