Last day to register for Family Connection’s Scarecrow Walk

As a reminder, today is the final day to register to participate in Family Connection’s Scarecrow Walk.

According to Family Connection Executive Director Noel Pauley, registration forms must be submitted to Family Connection by the end of today to guarantee a spot.

Registrations forms can be sent by email to [email protected].

Pauley says that while many fall festivals are being forced to cancel due to COVID-19, Family Connection has decided to host this alternative event for families to enjoy.

She says businesses, churches, organizations, and even individuals are invited to enter hand-made scarecrows that will line the back and side of the walkways at the Historic Stephens County Courthouse.

Families will be able to enjoy these scarecrows throughout the month of October and vote on their favorites.

Pauley says there will be prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Family Connection is asking groups to provide a $40 donation when entering a scarecrow.

Pauley says this is an opportunity to do something creative to make families smile.

Funds raised will benefit the programs of Family Connection of Stephens County.

Programs include the Stephens County Schools Mentoring Program, First Steps Maternal Education Services, Mental Health Consortium, and the efforts of the Prevent Child Abuse Stephens Council.

Again, registrations for the Scarecrow Walk are due back today, September 25.
