Lane Restrictions on SR 365 Begin This Week, Last Through June

Construction will begin this week on the Alto Mud Creek Road and Yonah Road crossings on State Route 365, and commuters should expect lane restrictions through the projected completion of the projects in June.

According to Georgia Department of Transportation project documentation, the installation of ‘Reduce Conflict U-Turns (RCUTs) is a response to public input urging due to safety concerns at these crossings.

RCUT traffic control markings will prohibit traffic traveling on Alto Mud Creek Road and Yonah Road from crossing from one side of SR 365 to the other, and will also prevent left turns off of the side roads onto SR 365, instead requiring a right turn off of Alto Mud Creek Road or Yonah Road onto SR 365. Vehicles traveling on SR 365 will still be able to turn either left or right onto the two side roads.

Alto Mud Creek Road and Yonah Creek Road are approximately 12 miles south of the Toccoa Exit on SR 365, near the school bus graveyard and just before Jaemor Farms.
