Lake Louise Road will soon close again for railroad repairs

Lake Louise Road will be closing again.

According to Stephens County Administrator Phyllis Ayers, this closing will be for repairs to the railroad.

On Monday, May 23, Ayers announced that the railroad will be making the repairs beginning on June 6, 2022. She says the repairs, detours and traffic control will all be handled by the railroad.

Ayers noted that this upcoming closure will not involve the county nor Pine Cove.

In January 2020, the Stephens County Public Works Department closed Lake Louise Road due to extensive repairs and upgrades needed to the Lake Louise Dam.

The road was reopened earlier this month following a 2-year closure.

During the initial closing, Ayers explained that while the road is maintained by Stephens County, the dam is owned and maintained by adjoining landowners.

Again, after being open for just a few weeks, the road will be closing again, starting on June 6, 2022.
