Lady Indians Win Over North Oconee

Pitcher Emma Whitfield did not allow a run as the Stephens County Lady Indians Softball team defeated North Oconee 8-0 on Tuesday. Whitfield allowed just two hits and struck out nine batters.

The Lady Indians scored seven of their eight runs in the third inning—Stephens County scored on a triple by Natalie Morgan, a double by Bailey Dobbs, a single by Kaylee Sellers, a single by Jasmine Lowery, and a double by Mackenzie Rogers. Stephens County collected a total of eight hits, led by Ashton Ayers and Bailey Dobbs each with two hits.

The Lady Indians, rated #4 in the State AAAA rankings, improved to 9 & 1 overall, 2 & 1 in Region 8-AAAA, and will be back in action Thursday as they host Jefferson—JV will play at 4:30pm with the Varsity game at 5:55pm.
