Lady Indians volleyball, softball on tap early this week

Stephens County’s Lady Indians athletes play at home this week.

The Stephens County Lady Indians volleyball team hosted Clarke Central and Habersham Central at the Currahee Arena last Thursday night, but were unable to nail down a win.

The Lady Indians won one set and lost two against Clarke Central and fell to Habersham Central in all three sets. 

The Lady Indians volleyball team will host Elbert County and West Hall at the Currahee Arena tomorrow night, Aug. 15,  starting at 5:30 p.m.

The Stephens County Lady Indians softball team defeated Habersham Central last Thursday on the road, 6 to 4. 

Elly Hicks got the win on the mound giving up 4 hits and 3 runs in 4 innings. 

Riley Walker came in relief to finish the game.  

Stephens County had 11 hits, led by Hallee Shirley and Fayeth Ivester with 3 hits each.  

The Lady Indians will be in action again tonight  as they host Madison County.  

The Junior Varsity will play at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game starting at 6:30 p.m.
