Lady Indians triumphant over St. Pius, 10-0

The Stephens County Lady Indians softball team ended the regular season Thursday by defeating St. Pius, 10 to 0, in a region game.

Stephens County got on the board in the first inning when Emma Whitfield singled to drive in the first run.  The Lady Indians tallied five runs in the third inning.  Aly Singletary, Laney McGee, Ashton Ayers, and Kayley Sellers all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.  Whitfield earned the victory in the circle for Stephens County. She went five innings, allowing just one hit, striking out 11 and no walks. Jasmine Lowery hit a home run in the fourth inning, contributing to Stephens County’s 17 hits on the day.  Lowery, Singletary, and Ayers each collected three hits to lead the Lady Indians hitting.

Stephens County finishes the regular season with an overall record of 14 & 8 and a region mark of 5 & 3.  The Lady Indians will have a week off before they start the region tournament at Madison County on Tuesday, October 2nd.
