Lady Indians takes win against Rabun Co., 9-1

Kasey Westmoreland drove in five runs on three hits to lead the Stephens County Lady Indians to a road victory over Rabun County 9-1 on Monday in girls’ softball.   

Westmoreland drove in runs on a double in the first, a single in the second, and a single in the fourth.  

The big inning for the Lady Indians came in the 2nd thanks to five runs with singles by Kayley Sellers, Westmoreland, Emma Whitfield, and an error on a ball put in play by Brenna McCall.  

Allie Huff earned the victory in the circle for Stephens County as she surrendered one run on six hits over five innings, striking out three and walking one.

Stephens County was supposed to play a home region contest against Madison County last (Tues) night, but the game was rained out.  

It has been rescheduled for tonight (Weds) at 6:30. 93.1 FM and AM-630 WNEG will broadcast tonight’s Stephens County/Madison County girls’ softball game with airtime at 6:15.
