Lady Indians takes down North Oconee in region game

With Emma Whitfield on the mound, Stephens County Indians’ Varsity shuts out North Oconee for first region win

Emma Whitfield had all the right stuff, on Thursday, for Stephens County Indians’ Varsity, allowing zero runs, striking out 14 and besting North Oconee by a score of 6-0.

A single by Carley Moore in the first inning was a positive for North Oconee.

Whitfield earned the win for Stephens County Indians Varsity. She surrendered zero runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out 14.

Ashley Clark took the loss for North Oconee. She surrendered six runs on ten hits over seven innings, striking out two.

Stephens County Indians Varsity hit one home run on the day. Aly Singletary went yard in the fourth inning.

Stephens County Indians Varsity had ten hits in the game.  Laney McGee, Jasmine Lowery, and Singletary each had multiple hits for Stephens County Indians Varsity.  Singletary, Lowery, and McGee each collected two hits to lead Stephens County Indians Varsity.  Stephens County Indians Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Kasey Westmoreland made the most plays with  three.

North Oconee didn’t commit a single error in the field. Beth Anne Brice had the most chances in the field with seven.
