Lady Indians softball team secures big Region win

It took extra innings, but the Stephens County Lady Indians softball team picked up a big Region win last Thursday night by defeating the Oconee County Lady Warriors on the road, 6 to 5 in 9 innings.  

With the game tied in the top of the 9th, a steal of home scored the winning run.  The Lady Indian held a 5-run lead in the 4th inning, but could not prevent Oconee County from tying the game in the bottom of the 7th.  

Riley Walker earned the win on the mound for Stephens County.  

The Lady Indians had 11 hits in the game, led by Carson Stowe with 3 hits and Maddison McGee with 2.  

The Lady Indians improved to 5 & 8 on the season, but more importantly, 1 & 0 in Region 8-AAA.
