Lady Indians Softball Rolling

After starting the season with 7 straight losses, the Stephens County Lady Indians softball team is on a roll winning 7 of their last 8 games, including 3 Region-8 AAA games.

The Lady Indians defeated Habersham Central 5-2 on Monday night, and followed that up with a big Region 8-AAA win Tuesday night by holding off Hart County 6-5.  In that game, the Lady Indians scored 5 runs in the top of the 6th to lead 6 to 2. Hart County came back with 3 runs in the bottom of the 6^th, but Stephens was able to hold on and walk away with the one run victory.  Laney McGee went 3 for 4 at the plate with an RBI; Jasmine Lowery reached base each time with 4 walks; and Allie Huff picked up the win on the mound allowing only 7 hits.

Stephens County is now 4-2 in Region- 8 AAA, and 8-10 overall. Stephens County is scheduled to play 1st place Franklin County tonight in Carnesville at 6 p.m. The last time the two teams met Franklin County escaped with a 1-0 victory.
