Lady Indians Softball Rated Fifth in State by “Score Atlanta”

Alanna Dunson drove in six runs on three hits to lead the Stephens County Lady Indians past Oconee County 11-1 on Thursday in girls region softball action.  Dunson drove in runs on a double in the first, a home run in the third, and a home run in the sixth.

The big inning came in the sixth inning when the Lady Indians scored five runs led by a single from Emma Whitfield and a home run by Dunson.  Stephens County collected 14 hits for the game.

Stephens County’s record remains perfect at 8 & 0.  The Lady Indians, who are now rated number 5 in the state in the “Score Atlanta” Class AAAA Softball rankings, will next play at Madison County on Tuesday in another region contest—J-V starts at 4:15 with varsity game time at 5:55.
