Lady Indians Softball fall to Madison

The Stephens County Lady Indians softball team lost to Madison County Monday night in a home game, 6 to 3.  

After trailing 1 to 0 in the bottom of the first inning, Carley Funderburke hit an RBI double to tie the game.  

Madison County reclaimed the lead in the top of the 2nd inning, but a sacrifice fly by Nyleigh Hutto tied the game again in the bottom of the 2nd.  

Stephens County could not keep pace, and Madison County jumped back into the lead in the 5th inning and would go on to the victory.  

Riley Walker took the loss on the mound for the Lady Indians.  In addition to Funderburke and Hutto, Walker also had an RBI for Stephens County.  

The Lady Indians next game will be this evening, Aug. 17, as they travel to Banks County with game time at 5 pm. 

The Stephens County Junior Varsity squad came away with a win last night at Tallulah Falls, 16 to 0.
