Lady Indians Lose Close Games

The Stephens County Lady Indians Softball team lost a pair of games on the road Saturday by the same score—1 to 0.

In the first game against Tattnall Square Academy, the game was scoreless in the bottom of the seventh inning when Tattnall Square scored the game’s only run.  Lady Indians pitcher Emma Whitfield struck out 8 batters in the game.

In the second game Saturday, Stephens County played Ola High School.  Emma Whitfield started for the Lady Indians on the mound.  She recorded 10 outs–5 by strike outs when she left the game after 3 1/3rd innings.  Mackenzie Rogers came in relief to finish the game on the mound for Stephens County, but could not keep Ola from score the lone run in the contest.

Stephens County drops to 10 & 3 on the season.  They are scheduled to host Region Foe North Oconee Tuesday—JV plays at 4:30pm with the varsity game at 5:55pm.
