Lady Indians earn spot in state playoffs

The Stephens County Lady Indians softball team hit 3 homeruns in their Region 8-AAA playoff game Tuesday night, and defeated Hart, 6-0.  

Riley Walker pitched a great game for the Lady Indians in the shutout win.  She also earned her 100th strikeout for her High School career, plus hit a 2 run homer. 

Nyleigh Hutto hit a homerun, as did Kylee Glaze, her first of the season.  Hutto hit a double in her first at bat to score the 1st run. Carson Stowe hit a double to score the 2nd run then the home runs followed.  

With the win, the Lady Indians earned a spot in the state playoffs, and will host Monroe Area today (Wednesday) at 5:30 to decide seeding for 3rd and 4th in the Region.  Monroe Area advanced by defeating Oconee County, 4 to 3 last night. 

Franklin County and Hebron Christian split their best of 3 series Tuesday night, so they will play tonight for the number one seed in the Region going into the state playoffs that begin Monday, October 16th.
