Lady Indians defeated Habersham Central

The Stephens County Lady Indians defeated Habersham Central Tuesday at home, 4 to 2, in varsity softball action Tuesday.

After trailing 1 to 0 going into the bottom of the first inning, Stephens County’s Carson Stowe hit a 3-run homer to give Stephens County the edge, 3-1.  

Stephens County scored one more run in the bottom of the third on a solo home run by Carley Funderburke.  

Emerson LeCroy earned the win for the Lady Indians, allowing four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out two and walking five. 

Riley Walker came in to pitch the final three innings, giving up just one hit and striking out three.

The Stephens County Junior Varsity team also picked up a win over Habersham Tuesday, 19 to 4.

Stephens County will travel to Habersham for their next game today.  The JV team will start at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m.

The Stephens County Middle School softball team also picked up a big win over Habersham on Tuesday, 19 to 3.  The Lady Rebels scored 11 runs in the 2nd inning to break the game open. Stephens County had a total of 14 hits and 9 walks in the game.
