Lady Indians Advance to Sweet Sixteen-Fall to Gordon Lee

The Stephens County Lady Indians season came to an end in the sweet sixteen of the AAA state softball tournament Tuesday falling to the host team Gordon Lee High School in Chickamauga.

Earlier in the day, Stephens County defeated White County in an elimination game 6-4.  The Lady Indians then advanced to face the host team, Gordon Lee, for the opportunity to go to the elite-8 tournament in Columbus, but fell to the Lady Trojans, 15-0 in 3 innings.

The Lady Indians entered the state playoffs as the number 3 team from region 8-AAA.  On Monday they defeated Carver of Atlanta, the number 2 team from region 5, 18-0, but lost in their second game to Gordon Lee 12-2.

Two seniors played in their final games as Lady Indians-Ally Means and Emerson LeCroy.

The Lady Indians were coached by Head Coach Kasey Ivey and assistants Jesse Page and Savannah Canady.

 

 Stephens County ends the season with an overall record of 13-16.
