Lady Indian Softball Season Ends in Region Tourney

Softball season comes to a close at Stephens County High School.

The Lady Indians’ season ended Wednesday with a tough loss at home to North Oconee, 5-3, in the third and deciding game of a best-of-three first round series in the Region 8-AAAA tournament.

Stephens County lost the series to North Oconee, 2 games to 1.

Karly Smith had a homerun Wednesday for the Lady Indians and Peyton Terrell and Natalie Morgan each added doubles.

Emma Whitfield took the loss on the mound, striking out six in a complete game effort.

North Oconee will now move on to face Buford in the region semi-finals and will also play in the state AAAA tournament.

Stephens County ends its season with an overall record of 18-7.
