Jeremy Edward Segars

Jeremy Edward Segars, 34, of Breckenridge, Texas, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Jeremy was a bright star in this often-difficult world and will be missed by so many of his friends and family members.

 

Jeremy was born to Jerry Segars and Sandra Taylor LaBounty on February 18, 1989, in Anderson, South Carolina.

In 2011, Jeremy met Crystal Curry, and the two were later married on October 8, 2016, in Toccoa, Georgia. They raised three wonderful kids: Dakotah, Quentin, and Alexis (Lexi) Matthews. His family was his pride and joy.

 

Jeremy’s biggest passion in life was music. He was an amazing guitarist who spent countless hours perfecting his art. Jeremy also loved hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time surrounded by his family and friends.

 

Jeremy is survived by his wife, Crystal Segars; children, Dakotah, Quentin, and Lexi, all of Breckenridge; sisters, Rebekah Carroll and Taylor Brewer of Georgia; father, Jerry Segars and wife Pat of Toccoa, Georgia; mother, Sandra Taylor LaBounty and husband Tim of Georgia; grandfather, Ed Taylor, in-laws, Boyce and Sabra Curry of Baytown, Texas; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His funeral service in the Melton-Kitchens Chapel of Memories will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023, and will be officiated by Michael Russell. All are invited to come celebrate Jeremy’s life. His service will also be livestreamed on Facebook so that those friends and family who can’t make it to Breckenridge can share in the celebration of his life.

Family and friends in Toccoa will also host a memorial service tomorrow (Sat. Oct 14) from 2pm-4pm at Currahee Station, located at Big A Shopping Center, 770 Big A Road in Toccoa.

 

Memorial donations in Jeremy’s name can be made to an organization or charity of the donor’s choice and can be left at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. Condolences can be left online at meltonkitchens.com.
