James “Jim” Frederick Malik

James “Jim” Frederick Malik, 64, went to his heavenly home on August 6, 2021.  Jim was founder, owner and operator of Gem Screens, a successful porch, window, and door business that has flourished in Cherokee County for over thirty years.

Jim was a Georgia native, raised in beautiful Toccoa, Georgia. He was born to the late Joe and Flo Malik, a business owner/entrepreneur and a great mom and homemaker. Jim attended UGA and then served in the U.S. Navy for four years.

Jim came to the Canton area in the 1980’s and met the love of his life and companion for 37 years, Joyce Lee Malik. Jim was blessed with three children and nine grandchildren. Jim’s life was full of loving family adventures as they built their business, home educated and enjoyed fishing, baseball and traveling together. Jim coached and mentored many young men in his life as a coach, evangelist and businessman. 

Jim was blessed to serve, attend and fellowship in the Body of Christ at Victory Christian Center of Atlanta for 25 years. 

Jim was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Flo Malik and a brother John Malik. He is survived by his wife Joyce, sons Joe(Casey) Malik, Benjamin(Laura) Malik, daughter Alexis(Richard), and sisters Elizabeth Johnson and Jane Anderson, and nine grandchildren,  Alana, Leslie, Megan, Daniel, Stephanie, Haily, Christiana, Matthew, and Nova. 

Please join us as we remember and honor Jim in joy in a public memorial service and inurnment beginning with a memorial service at Lake Arrowhead Church on August 30, 2021  from 10am to 12:00 followed by inurnment at Georgia National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
