Ivey named sole finalist to replace Martin at Stephens County Development Authority

Brittany Ivey has been named the sole finalist for the president and chief executive officer position with the Stephens County Development Authority.

The announcement was made earlier this week by Authority Chair Brian Akin.

He says Ivey is no stranger to the authority, as she served as assistant director from June 2016 to March 2017 and assistant to the executive director from August 2014 to June 2016.

Following a required 14-day waiting period, Ivey will succeed Stephens County Development Authority’s current Executive Director Tim Martin, who announced his retirement in November of 2020.

Martin served as the organization’s executive director from 2008 until 2020.

During his time with the development authority, Martin was instrumental in recruiting international company Sark Wire, and a second international company Nifco KTW.

He also oversaw the growth of several existing companies—most notably, ASI.

The Authority changed the title of the position to President and Chief Executive Officer when the search for a new leader was launched.

Ivey currently serves as federation manager for Georgia Farm Bureau.

She provides direction and program support to 14 county farm bureaus in Northeast Georgia while providing management, training and supervision to 34 office staff and ensuring regular office operations.

The authority will meet on March 8 to finalize Ivey’s employment.
