On Tuesday, The Stephens County Development Authority and the Stephens County High School Work Based Learning, or WBL, program recognized October’s Work-Based Learning Student of the Month Fayeth Ivester at a presentation at the Stephens County Government Building in downtown Toccoa, where she is currently employed by Stephens County Clerk of Superior Court Tim Quick.

Ivester is a junior at SCHS, and has demonstrated dedication and hard work in her job placement.

Quick expresses his enthusiasm for this recognition, stating, “I am delighted that Fayeth is receiving this honor. She is a pleasure to be around and willingly completes any tasks assigned to her. Her work is accurate and punctual. She is inquisitive and asks thoughtful questions. We are fortunate to have her and hope she can continue with us throughout the remainder of her high school career.”

Ivester aspires to work in the field of law, and this opportunity allows her to gain firsthand knowledge of the legal profession at a local level.

Ivester’s academic and extracurricular achievements are equally as impressive as her employment achievements, says WBL spokesman and Stephens County Development Authority President and CEO Brittany Ivey, adding that Ivey is involved in a range of extracurricular activities, including membership in organizations such as Beta Club, Anchor Club, Sources of Strength, Skills USA, and National Honor Society.

Ivester actively participates in multiple sports at Stephens County High School, including basketball and tennis, and she is recognized as an all-region softball player.

Kasey Ivey, Ivester’s softball coach, describes her as the epitome of a student-athlete. Ivey adds, “Fayeth is one of the most hardworking students and athletes I have had the privilege of teaching and coaching.”

Jennifer Blasingame and LaDonna Bartmas, the Work-Based Learning Coordinators at Stephens County High School, concur that this distinction is well-deserved by Ivester, as she consistently demonstrates an exceptional work ethic as a student.

This month’s gift cards were provided to our student of the month from Bulldogs Car Wash & Express Lube and the Stephens County Development Authority.
