Indians Winning Streak Goes to Eight
It wasn’t pretty, but the Stephens County Indians moved to 8-0 on the season with a 9-5 victory over Hart County in Hartwell Tuesday night.
The Indians managed only seven hits in the game, and committed 4 errors while walking six, and hitting a batter in the first five innings.
Luckily for the Indians, the Bulldogs were more generous as they had 12 walks, one hit batter, and 4 errors that led to Indians runs.
Dawson Sorrells was the Indians leading hitter, going 3 for 4, with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored. Austin Page and Zach Boyd had 2 RBI’s each, and Chaz Bridges added a RBI.
Gabe White picked up his second win on the mound going 3 and 2/3 innings without allowing a hit with 4 strikeouts, and 7 free passes. Zach Boyd and Bryson Fowler pitched well in relief combining for 3 1/3 innings allowing just 2 hits, and striking out 4.
Hart County’s CJ Sanford took the loss. The Bulldogs fall to 1-4 this season.
After 6 games in 7 days the Indians will get a couple of days off before traveling to Franklin County to face the Lions Friday night. Airtime is scheduled for 6:15 P.M. with first pitch at 6:30 P.M. on WNEG.
