Indians Win Opener in Rout

Rabun County scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but Stephens County answered with the next twelve to take a season opening victory 12-2 in five innings at The Reservation.

Rabun County’s Aaron Bryson singled to start the game and scored on a Gavyn Jones single. Jones went to second on the throw and scored on a Brody Jarrard single.

The Indians answered with one in the bottom of the inning when Kole Rogers singled and later scored on a Zach Boyd RBI Sacrifice Fly. The Indians added three more runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning with hits by Dawson Dean and Griff Pruitt, and a 2 RBI triple by Austin Page. Page scored later in the inning on a single and RBI by Dawson Sorrells.

The Indians blew it open in the 4th inning scoring 8 runs in the inning on 4 hits and 2 Wildcat errors. Cole Beitzel had 2 RBI’s, and Pruitt had an RBI in the inning.

Davis Swenson went 4 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, and striking out 7 to get the win. Dawson Sorrells pitched a 1-2-3 5th inning, striking out two. Rabun County’s Jonathan Henson got the loss.

The Indians now 1-0 will host Habersham Central on Friday night. Airtime at 5:15 P.M. and first pitch scheduled for 5:30 P.M. on WNEG
