Indians Win Big on the Road at Hart

Stephens County placed four players in double figures and overcame an early deficit to get a big win on the road over rival Hart County 75-59 Monday night in Hartwell.

The Indians trailed 23-16 midway through the 2nd quarter, but finished the quarter on a 14 to 2 run and led 30-25 at the half.

The Indians extended their lead in the third quarter and Hart County was never able to get within ten points the rest of the way.

Ty Nails led the Indians with 22 points, De’Undra Singleton scored 18 points, Montavis Thornton 16 points, and Chaz Bridges added 14 second half points, including 4 three-pointers.

Hart County was led by Rex McCord with 10 points.

The Indians move to 5-0 on the season, Hart County Falls to 2-4.

In the girls game, Hart County’s Torrion Starks led all scorers with 20 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 58-45 win over the Stephens County Lady Indians.

Stephens County pulled as close as two points early in the 2nd half, but the Lady Bulldogs pulled away to lead by as many as 20 points in the game.

Stephens County placed three players in double figures with freshman Tynajiah Eades leading the way with 11 points, and 10 points apiece from seniors Anaiah Wilson, and Tykia Thompson.

The Lady Indians fall to 4-4 on the season, Hart County is now 4-2.

The Stephens County Indians and Lady Indians return to the hardwood tonight when they host Rabun County at the Currahee Arena. Airtime is set for 5:45 P.M. on WNEG and at wnegradio.com.
