Indians Win Big at The Branch

The Stephens County Indians moved to 3-0 on the season defeating previously unbeaten Flowery Branch 32-7 Friday night in Flowery Branch.

Javin Gordon led the game ground again rushing for 177 first half yards and 246 yards on 27 carries in the game. The Indians trailed early 7-0 but it was all Indians after that scoring the next 20 points in the first half on Gordon runs of 43 yards and 1 yard and Luke Waters two field goals of 38 and 31 yards.

In the 3rd quarter, Da’Von Swinton picked off a pass and went 60 plus yards to extend the lead to 26-7 and Omari Feaster went 40 yards for a touchdown to make the final tally of 32-7. Swinton led the Indians defense with 2 interceptions in the game.

Stephens County Head Coach Wesley Tankersley was pleased with his team’s play.

 

 

Stephens County returns home next Friday night when they host Dawson County in the homecoming game. WNEG will air the Indians Tailgate Show beginning at 5:30 P.M. with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 P.M.
